Sherry Jones is a philosophy and game studies subject matter expert at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, where she develops courses on the philosophy and psychology of game design. She serves as a steering committee member for the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Learning, Education, and Games Special Interest Group. In 2018-2019, Sherry ran a video series titled: Ethics and Games, which examined the ethical messages that games espouse and the moral philosophies that can be applied to clarify and evaluate game ethics.
The U.S. Department of Education, with great interest in Jones’ academic proposal titled: A Solution to OER Publication Resistance: Using Blockchain Technology to Protect Scholar Copyright (2018, IJOER), invited her to participate in the 2019 and 2020 Summits on Education Blockchains held in Washington D.C. to discuss the future of open education and the future of work. She is currently working with the Colorado Department of Higher Education on developing gaming and esports initiatives that can enrich the higher education curriculum and strengthen the state’s economy.
