S. Gregory Hipskind MD PhD is a nationally recognized clinical neuroscientist. He holds a PhD degree in Neurophysiology and has had residency training in both Neurology and Family Medicine. He was Board Certified in Family Medicine in 1981 and elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine. He qualified in Nuclear Neurology in 2002. He was one of the early pioneers in incorporating brain SPECT imaging into everyday clinical practice. He is the author of a number of scientific articles on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and has authored a chapter in a medical textbook reviewing the brain SPECT findings in carbon monoxide poisoning. He was Certified as a Brain Injury Specialist in 2010 by the American College of Brain Injury Specialists. He is considered a national expert on validating the role of brain SPECT imaging in forensic cases of traumatic brain injury.
He is a nationally invited lecturer on the role of brain SPECT imaging in the evaluation of traumatic brain injury and has appeared on many regional and national news media programs including Dr. Phil, Nightline and the Liza Gibbons Documentary series. He currently serves as the Chief Medical Advisor for Cerescan Corp where he oversees research related to the role of Near-Infrared Light therapy in the treatment of traumatic brain injury and the the role of stem cells in treating Alzheimer’s Disease.
