The 2nd annual Playing for Pride event is coming June 18, 19, and 20!
In 2020, we joined forces with the Stonewall Community Foundation to celebrate Pride digitally during the pandemic. Our global gaming event helped celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community through the world’s largest ‘Digital Pride’ gaming tournament, where competitors battled in Super Smash Bros. Our amazing community rallied behind the event by sharing their own stories, donating to the Stonewall Community Foundation, and showing off their awesome special edition Pride Gaming Skins.
2021 will be even bigger!
While we’re excited to bring back the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament, Playing for Pride will be spread out through three days of panel discussions, content, networking opportunities, and tournaments, including one centered around the new Guilty Gear: Strive!
On Friday, June 18, Playing for Pride will hit RM GUILD with a special guest panel featuring several LGBTQ+ figures in the gaming and esports industries. More announcements detailing the panel will be made soon!
Saturday, June 19 is all about Super Smash Bros. Come watch the Playing for Pride tournament where competitors will battle for a $1500 prize pool.
Sunday, June 20 will feature the very first Guilty Gear: Strive tournament of the year, where players can also compete for a piece of the $1500 prize pool. After the tournament, make sure you stick around for the Playing for Pride afterparty where you can hang out and network with other event attendees.
All donations will be dedicated to the Stonewall Community Foundation! You can tune into all of the tournaments, and help us raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights on Twitch. To register to play, visit Smash.gg for more info.
