Ludwig Ahgren, one of the top streamers on Twitch, has left the platform to stream exclusively on YouTube. His first stream on YouTube will happen today.
Ludwig’s departure from Twitch is incredibly significant. As of this writing, he has 3.1 million followers with 27,000 subscribers. However, his explosion on Twitch, and in the streaming community as a whole happened during his month-long subathon that took place earlier this year. By the end of his subathon, he had broken several records. TwitchTracker claims he peaked at 283,066 subscribers, beating other top streamers like Ninja and Shroud.

Ludwig’s move to YouTube follows several other top content creators such as Ben “DrLupo” Lupo, Tim “TimTheTatMan” Betar, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, and Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter. However, many are guaranteeing that this is just the beginning. Ryan Wyatt, Managing Director of Gaming at YouTube, has already begun sharing the platform’s 2022 roadmap. Creators can look forward to more features that include gifted memberships, improved live discoverability, live monetization, Clips expansions, and new mod tools. It seems that YouTube is hitting the competition in all directions by implementing crucial improvements alongside its growing creator lineup.
