My name is Elena, I’m the new Community Manager here at Ritual Motion! I started just about a month ago and I’m super excited to be a part of the amazing community RM has created. Before joining, I was writing and doing interviews with Dot Esports, managing Bloody Gaming’s social media, and doing a variety of other freelance work in the game industry.
I’m relatively new to the gaming industry (about two years). Throughout college, I had been studying hotel/restaurant management because honestly I just love traveling and food. I worked primarily in luxury brand hotels and was able to live in so many new places thanks to it. Orlando, Key West, and Hong Kong just to name a few! However, as I spent more time in hospitality I came to realize I didn’t actually like working in it. Especially once I started working full-time after college. I spent about two years after graduating in the industry until I decided it wasn’t worth it anymore. I wanted to do something I was more passionate about and for me that was gaming. So, I moved to Los Angeles and have been building my career in video games ever since! I’ve been gaming since elementary and it has always been a way for me to meet new people and build long-lasting relationships, so the transition into the industry felt natural.
One of my favorite personal projects in gaming has been creating a “budget LCS” with a few of my friends. It’s called the Bubble Tea League and it’s essentially a fun, but competitive League of Legends league made up of close friends and friends of friends. We started off with four teams, but are now capped out at 10 teams! It started off as a way for friends to stay in touch, but a lot of us get super into it. We’ve gone as far as to create a hype video, custom graphics, and logos, and we just added a weekly analyst desk segment. The amount of work that’s gone into a simple league is amazing to see and it’s been such a great way for all of us to stay in touch.
While at Ritual Motion, I hope to bring others together to talk about their favorite games and hopefully meet someone new in the community!
